Yarn cakes with a cherry on top

When I last wrote on these pages, I had just taken possession of my new ball winder and swift. This is the best thing since Knitpicks Options needles! I find myself winding my little cakes and then carrying them around, petting them. Two of my favorites are Morehouse yarns:
The yarn on the left is the Salamander colorway and on the right is Fernglen. I have enough skeins for a sweater in each, one for Alan and one for me. The search is still on for patterns that would allow the beauty of these variegated yarns to be evident but still hold my interest for the amount of time it takes me to knit a sweater, which is considerable..
