Married!

It's a fact. I have been a very bad blogger, and not much better a knitter. That's the bad news. The good news is that Alan and I were married Sunday Nov 18 in Princeton! Now, a photo to prove it:

We had the perfect wedding at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, for my fellow central New Jerseyans who will know where that is. Family and very close friends were in attendance. There were a few bumps in the road, but nothing insurmountable. For example, we ordered our wedding cake from The Little Chef on Tulane Street in Princeton. Alan went in to pick it up Saturday afternoon. The man from whom we ordered the cake was there, and in retrospect, Alan said he should have picked up on his deer in the headlights expression, but the despicable baker told Alan that the cake wasn't done yet, and to come back in 30 minutes. So Alan, like a good Brit, trotted off to Triumph Brewery to pass the time, where he met a fellow ex-pat and was treated to a beer by the bartender in honor of our nuptials. When he returned to The Little Chef, the baker's shift had come to an end, and he was no longer there. To make matters worse, the high schooler left in charge said there was no wedding cake for us! Clearly Mr. Little Chef slunk off like the scoundrel he is when he realized he DID NOT MAKE OUR WEDDING CAKE! Hear ye, hear ye, avoid at all costs The Little Chef on Tulane Street in Princeton!

What does one do when, in less than 24 hours, wedding guests will expect champagne and wedding cake? Why, Wegman's of course! Daughter #1, my mom, and I selected four different delectables from the patisserie department and they were delicious. Here we are cutting the cakes. Speaking of cakes....

We ordered an ice cream cake from Thomas Sweet since so many children were in attendance. Fortunately, after the debacle at The Little Chef, Thomas Sweet had our cake, which they promptly boxed up for Alan. We ordered a cake that said Congratulations Alan & Linda. Guess what the cake said instead?

Go figure.

What prompted me to finally spread the word in knitblogdom? Everyone else's nuptials! Congratulations to Kristy and Grumperina!

My knitting has not been totally abandoned, although I have no photos to share at the moment. I have been remiss in updating Ravelry as well, but I hope to catch up soon. While I'm in several groups, I moderate one, for knitting pharmacists. If you lick, stick, count, pour, and more, come check it out: Pharmaknits.
Happy happy New Year, Knitters!
ETA: Should you wish to read about Alan's travails as he learns to love the USCIS, check out his blog: Phonostage.

Bad blogger indeed! Congratulations! But to my dismay, I can't see the pictures, and now I'm dying to know what the cake actually said.
